"The Twentieth Century has extremely horrified, threatened and suppressed the being of Man. Now that we have entered the 21st century, Sikhs have awakened to think of making use of the opportunity to outline and identify the basic ideals and programmes on which they could delineate their planning to preserve, practice and advocate their doctrines so that they could reveal to world their uniquesness and value in the right context. Evidently the learned scholars have givenbirth to a debate in this book which would give rise to new queries and future debate resulting in a multi­dimensional discussion which would reveal new angles of vision and thus our attempt would gain its true and perspectival significance. In order to reveal to the world, the contextual and valuable identity of the Sikh Nation, we ought to advocate and exhibit the reality of our elevated morality enshrining highly practical and ideologically humane ethics based on the doctrine of 'ek pita, ekis ke ham bark' i.e. 'the single fatherhood of entire humanity' or on 'rnanas ki jaat, sabhe eke pehchanbo' i.e. 'the entire humanity has only one caste.' We have initiated a debate and hope that the future readers, scholars, philosophers and historians would enrich it with more significant and serious dimensions. Wishing for an enlightened future of the Sikh community, I feel immense joy in releasing this book and in dedicated it to the Sikh community."
