Shrimada Bhagavata Purana is the treasure of the faithfuls for whom it is the worded manifestation of Krishna. Reading, reciting or hearing it is akin to making penance to gain the grace of Lord.

In this treatise, vested are the implied mysticisms of Vedas, Puranas, Upanishadas and theosophical philosophy. All the religious streams of thoughts harmoniously come together in its confluence to turn it into a holy encyclopaedia of religious philosophies of all inclusive Indian culture.

The original treatise is in Sanskrit language, to understand which requires special education. Hence, for the benefit of the readers, the book was first translated in simple Hindi and then this English digest was prepared taking great pains and care to preserve the soul of the treatise. The original title was called 'Shuka Sagara' literally implying the sea of knowledge revealed by Sage Shuka. In folksy version it became popular as 'Sukha Sagara' literally meaning 'Sea of Joy' and the faithfuls do find in it a sea of spiritual happiness. Hence, the name stuck.

Every effort has been made to preserve the original narrative theme, purport, spirit, importance and content elements of the treatise. We hope this book will generate the same volume of devotional spirit and joy as the original does. May Lord bless you.
