W Owen Cole is a lecturer, writer, and consultant who teaches at the West Sussex Institute of Higher Education, where he was head of Religious Studies until 1989. His publications include Religion in the Multifaith School, Six Religions in the Twentieth Century, Christianity, and Meeting Hinduism.

Piara Singh Sambhi is a past president of the Leeds Gurdwara, a founding member of the Central Committee of British Sikhs, and author of Understanding Your Sikh Neighbour and Sikhism.

The authors also have written The Sikhs: Their Religious Beliefs and Practices, which is widely used in higher education and has been translated into Japanese and Polish.
