Memoirs Of Giani Zail Singh - The Seventh President Of India

From The Frontcover Of 'Memoirs Of Giani Zail Singh - The Seventh President Of India'

Memoirs of Giani Zail Singh is a lucid narrative of the momentous struggle for emancipation from the feudal rule and foreign domination up to the blossoming bf democracy in free India.

It presents a fascinating account of some very important events in our contemporary history and the key role played by our national heroes in guiding our destiny.

The memoirs are the personal reflections of a man, who rose from the abject poverty of a tiny village to the most exalted position the country could offer.

Gianiji has unmasked the treacherous face of militancy and the failure of the people at the helm of affairs in tackling it tactfully. The tragic assassination of Mrs. Indira Gandhi and its aftermath have been graphically portrayed.

The constitutional relations between the Head of State and the Head of Government form an important feature of these memoirs. The controversies that raged and an almost· crisis situation that was reached make an interesting reading. This volume also throws light on human relations at the highest level capable of baffling the common man.
