This book was originally published by the Sikh Education Research Centre of Windsor, Ontario in 1992, but its circulation was limited. When this book appeared, Sikh readers were shocked to learn the facts of how the anti-Sikh forces previously and currently are deliberately destroying the basis of Sikh faith. These well-organized forces use their hidden intentions to control Sikh institutions and their activities. There is anecdotal evidence to suggest that there are secret alliances with politicians, preachers, and Sikh scholars to reproduce inaccurate information about Sikh faith. Sikh literature and text books, which are especially designed to prove that Sikhism is a sect of Hinduism, are being reproduced to distort information. A number of years ago, a book written in Hindi titled Sikh History ( Itihas) was published and circulated by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Amritsar and this book inaccurately portrayed Sikh history. When some scholars had heard of these inaccuracies, they asked how anti-Sikh forces were able to get this book published and circulated by an organization such as the SGPC. The president of SGPC, Avtar Singh Makkar, was not able to face the media and Sikh scholars after the incident.

RSS, a radical Hindu organization, established its centres in Punjab in order to have close ties with pseudo "babas" and "deradars" to introduce inappropriate rituals in Gurdwaras that are not connected with the Sikh faith. In addition, a new organization called Rashtriya Sikh Sangat was established by Hindu radicals to influence ignorant village folks of Punjab in order to keep them away from the real message and philosophy of Gurbani. This organization does not want Sikh preachers to interpret Gurbani; rather, they want them to promote the "Katha of Suraj Parkash," which is full of mythological stories about the lives of Gurus.

In order to create awareness of anti-Sikh forces and their tactics, the author has decided to revise and reprint this new edition. In this new edition, a new chapter "Hinduization of Sikh Faith and History" has been added, based on Tabai Roas Jgio by Dr. Sukhpreet Singh Udokay.We are thankful to Dr. Sukhpreet Singh for permitting us to have his material printed in this book. About The Author Of 'Sikhs Under Brahmanical Siege'

Born in District Ludhiana on September 15, 1927 Dr. Gurbakhsh Singh studied in Lyallpur and Khalsa College, Amritsar. In 1963, he obtained his Ph.D. degree from Ohio State University (U.S.A.). He served as a Professor and Dean at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. In 1984, he gave his resignation as a Dean and pursued a path in teaching Sikh youth about their faith, history and religion in India and abroad.
